Jill Reese is an accomplished math educator now working to supervise
and support TEACH/Here residents in Chattanooga classrooms. From time
to time, Jill sends us wonderful stories about things going on in
TEACH/Here classrooms.
What a delight to watch as one of our residents connects his students to the community. Buddy Sullivan, Clinical Instructor to Jameal Lett at Orchard Knob Middle School, recently began inviting successful community business leaders to talk with his class during their lunch time. Learning from Mr. Sullivan's example, Jameal invited a cabinet maker to come and speak to the group. The students are now involved in designing a cabinet that this local artisan has agreed to make. What a great way to tie together community involvement, math, and career opportunities to children. Thanks to Mr. Sullivan and Mr. Lett for making this happen!
