Michelle Rhee Visits Chattanooga

TEACH/Here residents had an interesting opportunity to become part of the national conversation on education reform when former D.C. schools chancellor Michelle Rhee visited Chattanooga yesterday.  Two residents were part of a special afternoon forum with Rhee at the Public Education Foundation, and several others attended the Waiting for Superman star's evening speech at the Tivoli Theater.

Invitations for the 7th through 12th grade Selection Day will be sent to interested candidates with STEM undergraduate degrees on TUESDAY, MARCH 8th.  Selection Day will be held in Chattanooga on March 31st.

Selection Day invitations for the new 4th through 8th grade program will be sent to candidates on APRIL 8th.  APPLICATIONS FOR THIS PROGRAM WILL BE ACCEPTED UNTIL MARCH 15th! Selection Day will be held on April 27th.

Announcing the New 4th through 8th Grade Math Program!

Big News!  Hamilton County was one of only three districts in the state to receive funding as part of the Tennessee Department of Education's Teacher and Principal Residency Competitive Grant Program.  Part of the First to the Top initiative, these funds will be used by the Hamilton County Department of Education in partnership with the Public Education Foundation and Tennessee Technological University to expand the TEACH/Here program to include fourth through eighth grade urban math classrooms throughout the district.  Apply now!
